The ages between 16 and 25 are a critical stage in every person's life. It is your transition to adulthood. From parents/families and the traditional institutions that support children, to the open arms of a world where many are left trying to sort out what to do next. Whether you are striking out on your own, aging out of foster care, continuing on to college or just trying to find your way, you need easy, informed access to the critical resources, life skills and guidance that will help you successfully meet the hurdles, twists and turns of adulthood.

LifePortal is a social network for young adults ages 16 – 25 to empower you to find and learn how to use the local resources, community and government services and planning tools you need. LifePortal's resources, along with your family, friends, mentors and other helpful professionals can help you successfully transition to adulthood.

Most importantly, LifePortal is for youth, and by youth. Except for "Professional Expert" articles or features, all content on the site was created by young people, either alone or with guidance from a trusted adult.

What it can accomplish and how many young people it can help will be up to the youth community it was created to serve. In other words, it up to you!

We invite you to contribute your blogs, videos, and helpful advice to others. Participate in discussions, create new groups, give feedback, answer surveys, and rate and review the services you receive to help make them even more helpful to others.
