What's with all the violence at sports games recently? A man who is a father of two young children, a husband, and a paramedic was brutally beaten by two Dodgers fans because he was wearng a Giants jersey and now is in a severe coma and will be swamped with medical bills IF he recovers. A local Lakers fan was punched in his face by a Warriors fan at the Oracle for just sitting in the stands in Lakers apparel. What's next? Is a fan at the Masters going to get pummeled with a golf club for wearing a hat with a golfer's name on it? Getting beat up for wearing a shirt that someone doesn't like is like getting attacked for having brown hair or blue eyes. You're getting abused because someone has a problem with your apperance. I could understand this better if the men got attacked for being loudmouthed or for teasing or threatening others but just for being there makes no sense at all. Team spirit is one thing, violence is completley different.
So now this poor man wearing a Giants shirt who saves others for a living is laying in a hospital bed while his children wonder if their daddy is gonna be around for their next birthday. Maybe this man would have saved a life of someone who is loved by his abusers; that could've happened. How would they feel then? A man who could save countless lives of children and their families is now waiting either for a miracle or for death. That's great. Let's all go buy some jerseys. Go team!
