Imagine having something to say but not have the courage to say. Imagine having wonderful ideas but instead of sharing you keep quite to avoid humilation and nerves. Well this describes me and so many  more. I have a lot on my mind, and so much to share to the world but I tend to let my nerves get the best of me. The perfect example would be the poetry slam, although i was around people that I see on a weekly basis i couldnt control it and  my heart ineveitably continued to beat un til it almost fell out my c hest, my hands start sweating and the room zoomed in and out..

Public speaking ,as i learned from last weeks meeting, is the number one thing people fear most. WIth death being second. How crazy is that? The meeting last meeting was very informative i learned a lot of things and techniques to help me stay calm. Little things such as a certain space between your feet, proper stature and eye contact were things I never paid attention to.

The first  thin was to be able to be comfortable with yourself, because if your not then people wont be comfortable with you! SO as a group we took turns starting to prepare. We did active listening to warm us up. Then one by one we went up to the front to describe "what we were most excited about" afterwards we had a critique sandwhich where we heard feedback, we sat down for a lesson and 20 mintues later did the same thing. I must say the training was very helpful and we all improved from the first presentation!
