So elections just passed and politics really grasped my attention this year. I kept my ears open to new information. One thing I found really intriguing was said in my Economics class today. We are talking about unemployment this week and the budget cuts as well as school funding came up. My teacher informed us of what is being said and passed on. It is being said that extending the school day AND year will help better the education system. Why? Because instead of students going home to do homework they will be in school longer and will get the extra attention that they are lacking. I think this option has its plus and deltas. Sure we will get the extra attention and help, but we can't live just living in school. A comment was made that the day should be from 7:30am to 5pm. I think that's a bit TOO MUCH. Perhaps extending the year might work a bit better, but we seriously need an improvement in our education. Hopefully this doubt and idea will be the first step towards changing the system and actually taking action to be better.
