Martin Luther king jr., was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. His grandfather began the family's long tradition as pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, dating all the way back to 1914 .Martin attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of 15.Hhe received the B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated. After all that schooling, you’d think he would be pretty busy, blocking out anything that crossed his eyes, until one day he met his future wife. In Boston he met and married Coretta Scott, a young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic attainments. Two sons and two daughters were born into the family.

Now with a family at home, Mr. king knew it was important to do something about all the segregation that was going on. So working his way from the bottom to the top, he fought and he worked to make it right, while along the way joining forces with the great Rosa parks. Day by day they fought until finally, they had won they’re battle.

So after the big victory, a celebration was in order for dr. king. So all of his supporters gathered into an hotel room and celebrated and danced the night away, until the one fatal moment. There was a knock on the door, and when dr. king went to open it, before he could even speak, he was dead. He had been assassinated.

Though he is no longer living, dr. king’s legacy lives on. It is because of him that we are able to come together and not worry about being discriminated against or even judged because of our skin color. Dr. King was a great man, and he will forever be remembered.
