Public speaking always has been something scary and nerve-racking for me. Since grad school I could not remember any presentation, well beside sharing time in elementary school, which I never had anything good to share wit the class, except this one time when the teacher told me it was my turn to share something to the class. I remember I had nothing so I pick up a rock from outside during recess and share it. Told them that I got the rock from the beach, then pass it around. I was to nervous to explain more.

Back to public speaking, it was not until college, when I learn how give presentation. With many practice I feel like I am getting a little better, however I have many thing I have to work on to make it better. Things like Eye contact, body movement, and having good energy.

The DJT workshop last Thursday was very helpful, because we was thought skill and tips to better our public speaking. Some skills that I learn and try to use lately was eye contact. I learn that I should not look at one person for a long time; I should scan to other people ever 3 sec. I learn that eye contact is important because it one way to get the listener attention.

Other things I learned were the hand gesture, and body movement, and how they are important during presentation. Like How to stand during presentation, the thing we should and should not do.

that was funny, how you took a rock from the playground then lied to the class and said you got it from the beach haha you fooled them! wow Phon you were one smart kid. I was really shy growing up it wasn't till I got older that I got a little bit more comfortable. You have great knowledge and stories, I cannot wait until you present at the RYSE Center.
