Blogs :: Historical Landmark Event

The article that i read in the Contra Costa Times is about the exhibit, "Historical Treasures: 100th Anniversary of the Carnegie Building". This landmark once was a city library but is now a museum. On November 14th on 400 Nevin Ave. There will be a display that will feature historic documents and many other things. Two womens groups teamed up with Andrew Carnegie to get help with building a new library. Later in the 19th century Carenige donated money to a program that helped in the construction of the library. Later on in the 1980s, the Carnegie building became a musuem that held an annex gallery. On the 14th of November the gallery with hold photos and other visuals representing the timeline of the construction of the building. For more details, call the museum at 510-235-7387.

Ultimately I believe that having a historic land mark in the city of Richmond is very exciting. I think that articles like these should be around our city of Richmond because I believe that gaining knowledge of what Richmond used to be can be fun and interesting at the same time.
