I chose to work at ryse simply for a job opportunity at first then once I got a job on the RLT I realized that ryse was a lot deeper than a job or work. It was a place that took the wellness of there community seriously and wanted to change it for the better. I felt that the work I would be doing at the center is work that I would love to say I was apart in making happen. I think I chose working at ryse over like target or any other job because when I go to a place I call my job I don’t want to feel like its somewhere I have to go to get a check, now don’t get me wrong I love my check but I like that when I come into work I’m not going to be doing the same pointless duties everyday that aren’t going to get anyone anywhere as people but to the next customer or payday. Ryse connects with our customer or members and that’s why I think the things we do here made a difference and is different from any other job. What I love about ryse is how its not you average job I don’t dread walking through those doors everyday and I think I would dread walking into target to sit behind a cash register for 4 hours a day. Not something I want to do. I like coming in knowing that the ideas and opinions I have will be heard and accounted for by all my coworkers and peers. That what I truly love about is the level of respect that everyone in the center has for one another especially the respect I feel from fellow team members and adult staff members as well.
