Oakland native Oscar grant on news years day. Once we received the verdict I immediately was hurt and disappointed. I felt that the justice system slapped allot of our community in the face. The verdict was unfair and just down right wrong. Had it been someone else besides Oakland Bart police or any opd member the outcome would have been completely different. Alot of the benefit of the doubt was given to meheserle was placed upon the so called stress he was under, but I feel like that was a completely unsubstantial excuse it is his job as a member of law enforcement to deal with and handle situations such as these without them resulting in the death of an innocent man. Im hoping with this verdict there will come a better sentencing that they will place the maximum penalties against him and hold no remorse as to the sentencing he receives.
