On Monday, Shirley Sherrod former employee of the USDA resigned from her position after the white house basically forced her out after remarks that she made at a local Georgia NAACP chapter meeting an article stated that she said that “she did not give a white farmer "the full force of what I could do" after he asked for assistance” surfaced on the internet. It is said that that the statement she made was altered or fabricated by members of the white house. Sherrod feels that her words were taken completely out of context, President of the national NAACP, Benjamin, supported the resignation, saying the organization has a zero-tolerance policy. I feel that this situation was taken too far, I think that she didn’t mean to discriminate against the farmer because of his color she simply didn’t want to give her full effort I think that saying that this statement want to be racist is a long way from what is true. That was unnecessary and that Sherrod should take a stand for what shes said and make her point clear to the members of the white house that didn’t understand.
