This year the kids and I spent mother's day at family camp in Pescardero CA, We enjoyed the entire weeked away from our normal lives. We have attended this camp for 6 years now. The kids really enjoy themselves. Their favorite activities are the zip line, gaga ball. archery and the night hike. The family camp is sponsored by YES (Youth Enrichment Strategies). We sleep in cabins and at night we can hear the wildlife and the water from the river. There are other families from our community there as well. I think all communites should have the opportunity to get away for one weekend and get to know each other outside of their everyday lives.

aww... i love family time...it's the best.I'm realizing that I'm in a different stage then my peers..i want to be home, while they party, my family comes 1st and I've always felt myself with them..I'm blessed to recognize my strengths...which is family!
I agree! sleeping in the wilderness definitely brings out a different side of you. Its so relaxing not having to deal with the noise of traffic, inhaling pollution and dealing with money. I am so happy to hear that you take your children camping its definitely a great way to get them to appreciate mother nature and all its beauty. Its because I went camping as a child that I appreciate nature a lot more than other people.
