If there is one thing that I learned from the RAINING ROCKS STORY is that it takes a village. In anything that you ever hope to accomplish there is a role that everyone is meant to play. At a young age we are taught to be cut throat, to be individual; not to rely on others and only think of oneself. I now realize that this way of thinking is seriously flawed. Although it sounds nice to say “I made it on my own” or “I did it all by myself” this isn’t necessarily the case. It takes the care and guidance of thousands of people. Even people who do the simplest tasks; whether it was the janitor that cleaned up after you or your kindergarten teacher. It takes a village. There are roles that everyone plays in order to allow things to run smoothly. Just as in the raining rocks story. It takes people committing different roles to allow a movement to be strong. If everyone would have stormed up to confront the enemy many people would have died because of the lack of rescue efforts. This shows that at times its necessary to have people fighting in the movement at different levels. Whether it be on the horizontal or vertical level. We need doctors and nurses to stay behind, activists to keep la Resistencia vivo (resistance alive), lobbyists and lawyers to protect the interest of the people, citizens to keep security and cook food, to plan, to protect. There are roles for everything and they are extremely important in the struggle.

Very wise...I'm glad you could share this lesson with others.
Nice blog I really enjoyed reading it :) I learned a lot about this in my two week training. Its an important lesson. People should be expose more to this belief since we are bombarded with capitalist ways of thinking.
