After watching the movie "Wag The Dog" I realize that media is heavily associated with how we make decisions about whats going on in the world. A key example is media's influence on politics. "Wag The Dog" made me see that we have to be cautious of what we believe especially when politics are involved. This is because television shows and other media outlets tend to be heavily influenced by money. This enables rich people to establish themselves in powerful institutions like television, movies, and newspapers. It was blatantly displayed in this movie how a group of people working for the president manufactured this fictitious war in order to gain sentiment of a nonexistent problem in order to help gain electoral votes. Although this story is fake it is meant to approach the issue of media's influence on politics in a comedic fashion. In this story the reason why this whole war was concocted was to shy away from a sexual harassment charge that the president had. This can be applied to our lives and actual politics where we can blatantly see how media that favors specific politicians will be shoved in our face while other deviant acts will be cast into the shadows. "Wag The Dog" was insightful because it gave an example to the ideas that we always hear about in regards to media's influence of politics.
